![]() Alternative Payments Score (10% Weight): We awarded each retailer a score for alternative payment methods they accept on a scale of 1-5.Based on this percentage we were able to generate a product selection score. We calculated the percentage of laptops in our product bucket that were available from each retailer we evaluated. The product bucket included 35 laptops based off of our research for the most popular and reputable laptop models on the market in 2021. Laptop Product Selection (20% Weight): We awarded each retailer a score on a scale of 1-5 based on the availability of a bucket of representative laptops from each of the respective retailers.Laptop Pricing Score (20% Weight): We awarded each retailer a score on a scale of 1-5 based on the relative pricing and affordability of a bucket of representative Laptops available from each of the respective retailers.Finally, we combined the converted third-party data points using a weighted average formula based on source weight to come up with a 360 Review score on a scale of 1-5. Any source with an assigned weight less than two was excluded from the consensus scoring model. The source weights are assigned on a 1-5 scale. We assigned “source weights” to each source used in the consensus scoring model based on our assessment of how much the source is trusted and recognized by consumers and how much its published review process indicates that it is both comprehensive and editorially independent. We then used the Z-Score to create a standardized U.S. To balance the distribution of scores within each source’s scale, we used a standard deviation (or Z-Score) calculation to determine how each laptop’s score compared to the source’s mean score.
